  • I think there’s a fine line that you can teeter on as a AAA dev nowadays. I absolutely got more enjoyment out of morrowind than I did Skyrim as a young player because Morrowind gave you less directive and kinda let you get in over your shoulders into places that a low level had no right being in. As an older gamer now though, I do appreciate games that let you do that as well as highlighting zones to let you know it’ll be max difficulty when you enter them, rather than cordoning them off until you achieve a certain level.

I have way less time to play games than I did when I was in my late teens/early 20s playing Morrowind, so games like Dying Light 2 that give you the option and caution of entering certain areas/quests helps me not my waste time with impossible areas.

I get it though, the whole setting a marker for the next quest is pretty mind numbing and the fetch quests are boring as hell.

Wolverine having QTEs that don’t matter if you get them correct is just pure laziness from whoever the director of the game is. Insomniac made some very good spider man games, but seems like they dialed this one in.

Sadly, I think AAA games are mostly dead… studios are gonna use AI for voice acting, coding, etc more and more if it means they don’t have to pay a salary to an actual person.

  • Yeah this post doesn’t make sense. Natasha Legerro said it best “I’d rather walk in on my boyfriend jerking off while hanging him self than have one of those CoD headsets on”

CoD/ Fortnite/Counterstrike players, to each their own, but I can guarantee you that they’re not perceived by women as superior to indie game players as the padme meme insinuates. If anything, girls like watching indie games being played than the mindless slop battle royale type games that necessitate micro transactions and headsets.

  • First off, nothing will beat red vs blue for Halo-verse content.

The only way I see an Elder Scrolls screen adaptation being even remotely well received by fans is if they follow the DnD: Honor Amongst Thieves/ Masters of the Universe movies, and Fallout show’s structures, where they didn’t take themselves too seriously and leaned into the cheesiness/abstract nature of those franchises.

Amazon’s MGM has had some bangers, and Paramount and Hasbro have had commercial success with Transformers, even if their flops have been more well received by fans than the movies and shows that were commercially successful.

I just don’t see Microsoft doing well with any of their licensed franchises without an established studio to produce it… feels like they’ll probably pivot to an AI slop studio to churn out some bullshit that takes itself too seriously if they actually plan on turning any of these into fruition.

  • I’m sure that there is plenty of arrogance from Idaho to Georgia… the electoral college has given way too much of a voice for the flyover states even though they are the minority. I can guarantee you that the coastal communities in the States hate what our country has become as much as you Canucks do. Western Washington/Oregon/California have hated the maga movement from the beginning, unfortunately billionaires use it to pocket tax dollars left and right, and the simps in purple states are down for the billionaire cause despite the fact that they will spend hundreds of millions of dollars to elect officials who are against a universal healthcare bill.
