    yeah you basically never wanna do psych stuff in an ER unless the behavior is unsafe enough that they’re likely to end up there anyway. The only psych interventions ED staff know how to do is emergently drugging a person unconscious which is rarely necessary. You more likely want some kind of specific psychiatric crisis services but you still need to be able to communicate effectively enough to let them work out a basic safety plan because if you go in with “I wanna die nothing will ever get better and you can’t talk me out of that” they’re gonna get you sent to an ER, which as stated, is less than ideal.
