A short eared owl banking. If you look really close, you can see the ATM card tucked into the feathers (I’ll see myself out). On a much more informative note, due to the characteristic of their flight feathers, owls are nearly silent in flight.

Yup, you can see its right alula sticking out! Good job. You’re getting close to your junior ornithologist badge at this point.
It’s a clump of feathers, I think the number varies, attached to their thumb equivalent.
