People who use social media for a living probably aren’t randomly scrolling. They might be actively looking for specific kinds of things, posting something in line with the PR strategy, designing such posts, reading statistics, etc. You know, like actual work.
Just like game testing technically involves playing, but you’re not really playing.
Boss makes a dollar, I make a dime, that is why I get depressed on company time.
If work paid me a fair wage, provided decent health care, paid for holidays, and didn’t reward AI usage as its own isolated metric, maybe I would work more. Maybe. It’s not like I get paid more for working more. No matter how much I produce, I get paid the same. The owners keep any excess profits.
Degrading your sanity and mental health for yourselves is not okay. But if it’s to serve a rich guy then it’s fine…
Fuck yeah. They’ll get ten minutes of almost actual work from me a day.
