Don’t forget to be scared of China’s social credit system. Nevermind that it’s basically the same thing as a western credit score, just run by the state instead of a shady, unaccountable private entity.
I don’t know if I’d go THAT far. Let’s not kid ourselves, there’s no “good guys” here. I think the only path to “better” is to try to take an honest look at the good, and the bad, in every nation, modern and ancient, and understand what they get wrong and why. And it will probably be a disaster too, but it’ll be a new disaster we can learn from.
