Is every citizen of a country entirely responsible for the worst actions of its government? Aren’t like half the posts on .ml about how awful and unresponsive to the will of the governed countries are?
I’ve been tear gassed and shot at by cops for the better part of the last few decades, am I responsible for the actions the government was taking despite my opposition? And not everyone can be in the streets either and the right place for those that can’t can be art. We need people making making dissident media to spread the message.

Bye.Even in a country where the majority support a genocide there are those who don’t and are afraid to speak out, those who do speak out and are silenced, and those who sacrifice everything trying to stop it. Most acts of resistance by Israelis will never be brought to light because their government works tirelessly to bury them in darkness. By implying that every Israeli is responsible for the genocide and framing their documentation of their nation’s crimes as hypocrisy you are aiding the Israeli state’s efforts to delegitimize them. The creators of NAZA are risking their lives, and you can’t pretend their work is meaningless while also acknowledging how lethally hostile Israeli society is to those who speak the truth.

If you can’t see the value in getting direct testimony about the genocide from some of its perpetrators I don’t know what to tell you. There’s another documentary I’ve seen called The Act of Killing where the filmmakers interview former Indonesian death squad leaders about - and even have them reenact - their roles in the anti-communist purge in 1965-1966. Of course it’s important to hear from victims / survivors, but getting confessions from the people carrying out a genocide and documenting them thoroughly also has undeniable value.
Edit: Something I’d like to add after reading the article you linked; critiquing the perspective of regretful participants in the genocide as this article does is part of the value in getting them out there. We know more about the psychology and worldview that enabled the genocide because that interview was conducted and published, which allowed the framing to be critically analyzed by the broader community. That knowledge is valuable for those seeking to combat and prevent present and future genocides.
We’ve had direct testimony about the genocide from its perpetrators since October 7th. They gave public testimonies in the Knesset, published their crimes on their own social media with their grinning faces visible, spoke them out loud in Israeli media. And these were translated and shared, even some by Western media.

And sure, Israel is hostile towards Jews having the slimmest sympathy for Palestinians.

Because boycotting Israel like we did with South Africa, where White South-Africans resisting apartheid weren’t safe either, is the least we should do if #FreePalestine and solidarity with Palestinians has any true meaning to us.
