I guess there has to be a conservation effort because people keep stealing them!
Anybody stealing one would be disappointed, as, like all wildcats other than F. sylvestris (the nearest wild relative of the domestic cat), they’d be too paranoid and aggressive to be domesticable.
I think that is a Felis sylvestris kitten.

Whether they’re wild or not doesn’t matter to me; all cat species are cute.
I can’t explain why but this cat does look like it could start talking with a Scottish accent and it wouldn’t look out if place
