I was under the impression that season 3 would set up a Heroes for Hire series (with the rest of The Defenders), and was supposed to end anyway after season 3.

It currently has a planned season 3 ending, although it seems like a “you get one more season, wrap it up” so sorta planned.

In terms of future setup, until the announcement of Zodiac yesterday we had no live action shows lined up going forward and every other show coming to an end. It seemed like the MCU live action TV was coming to an end, or at least an extended pause.

My best guess is post Secret Wars soft reboot, and then we can bring the Defenders (and others) back for whatever multi season show we want including Heroes for Hire.
