I had a plug-in battery pack adapter so I didn’t have that problem. She certainly tried all my gameboy games (she liked mole mania the most) but they werent a hit the way columns or the card games were.
Oh man they were amazing! I just wish all the additional accessories had been equally compatible. My sibling got a gameboy pocket the same time our parents gave me the gameboy (you can guess who wasn’t the favorite!) and sibling had so many more options for stuff. Lighted magnification screens and stuff never seemed to be made for the original fat gameboy. Or if they were, good luck finding them.
I’m the oldest of 6, so I got everything first. Mostly. Do you really feel like you weren’t the favourite? I know parents sometimes have a favourite, but mine never treated any of us differently. Except for the one sib born a girl, they were pampered af.
That really sucks. Lay it on me if you want. My childhood wasn’t great my mum was really abusive for most of it, but despite that I always knew I was loved. Not to excuse her actions, but there was a lineage of pain and abuse. She sought help, and got better at dealing with her own trauma, which made my younger siblings’ early years easier.
