Republicans in general seem to be driven by sports fan mentality. They will cheer for their team, for no reason except it is their chosen team. Even if they know or should know the other team is objectively better.

So for instance, they don’t care that the Supreme Court is being openly corrupt. E.g. Clarence Thomas’ luxury 40-foot Prevost Marathon motorhome… Because their team is “winning”.

So, the parties-switching-sides had already happened, & the Republicans were by-then the bad guys… ( Lincoln was Republican: so back then they were the good guys, & the Dems were the KKK-backers. The MAGA people insist on pretending that since Lincoln was Republican, that therefore MAGA & Lincoln were belonging on the same side, but that’s just false-framing/gaslighting.
