There’s nothing to be gained by being hostile with China. We should be working with them for mutual benefit.

The position Spain holds in the globe is remarkable. It has been a couple of years already Spain has more trade with China than the US (pretty much the only one in the EU) but soon others will follow. But Spain, with the right leadership, can easily become the new Switzerland of Europe, a refuge for capital (sorry ml users!) as it is becoming the safest investment one can do within the Europe. Also, its position with Palestine places it in the good eyes of most of Africa and the Middle East.

Now, there are risks still;

• It won’t take US to take its bases out of Spain and place them in Morocco, and, just for “teach a lesson” wink an eye at Morocco to go after Ceuta and Melilla.
• Israel will really has thing toward Spain now. No evidence, but after deeply reading on last total blackout, and speed train accident, one wonders…
• Finally, there is a lot, lot of polarization on the works in Social Media, that due to its nature it is impossible to measure, but one sees on the bus what people are been fed with on their twitter accounts. Also, a few years ago it was found the ultra-right wing VOX party was heavily financed by an anti-Iranian group (go figure… Iranian diaspora is non-existing in Spain) and we know which country actually finances these groups.

People are gonna have to stop using the phrase ‘the West’ so often.

Saying ‘the West’ assumes that USA and Europe are aligned.
