I agree with the sentiment but god does command some serious carnage:
Ezekiel 9:5-7 (ESV): “Pass through the city after him and strike. Your eye shall not spare, and you shall show no pity. Kill old men outright, young men and maidens, little children and women.”
Psalm 137:9 (NIV): “Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.”
1 Samuel 15:3 (NIV): “Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.”
The one about the Amalekites is being cited today by the Israeli government to justify killing everybody in Gaza and Southern Lebanon (and soon the West Bank).
The US and Israel are insane religious states just like Iran.
Don’t forget the Flood story where he killed nearly entire human race, and numerous other tales of death and destruction (Sodom & Gommorrah, Jericho, etc.).

…and, once again, the surest way to anti-theism is to actually read their texts.

The God described in the Bible is a monster.
