I cant remember specifics, but they said the price was X but it was actually higher and then they did rebates to stores. They also have Frank Azor constantly making dumb posts online.

All they had to do was sell it as cheap as they could and shut up, but AMD are known for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

I’ve gotten Nvidia cards every time since the 460 I started with. Every single one has had issues that made me think “I should try AMD this time”. Every time AMD somehow messed up that series of cards right when I was ready to buy, so I went with Nvidia again.

Please, allow me to try an alternative!

“The most popular individual AMD card is the RX 9070 XT, which comes in at 25th position overall, just behind the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080, and ahead of the ancient Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti.”

LMAAAAAAAAAAAAAO people were really saying the 9070 XT was a failure this entire time, they gotta be super fucking quiet now.

9070 XT has been great for me so far in Fedora 👌🏽. I couldn’t justify the extra 500$ for a 5080 for better ray tracing.

But I’d happily pay the $599 MSRP

[The RX 9070 XT’s] place as the most popular AMD card right now isn’t overly surprising, as although its price has risen considerably since launch, it remains one of the best least-worst bang-for-buck cards around, and sits at a price that’s aspirationally affordable absolutely ludicrous for many buyers.

That “average price” includes cards with factory overclocks and other enhanced gimmicks to jack up the MSRP above what the base 9070XT is supposed to be. What does it look like for the specific models of cards that were actually intended to hit the $599 price point?
