She would NOT stand still by the mounting block at first and once I got her still and I got into the saddle, she wanted to keep taking me to the gate out of the arena. I was not about that and I just made her stand in the middle of the arena and any time she moved forward towards the gate, I made her back up to the original spot. She was very frustrated with me, but got over herself eventually and stopped trying to go to the gate. That took like 15 minutes and getting in the saddle took 10 before that. Once she was standing and being good for a bit, I ended the session so we’d finish on a good note. It wasn’t much of a ride, but these things take time.

I do need to get a new girth though, because the one I’ve been using is rubbing a little bit and will def be uncomfy if I keep using it on her. So I’m gonna get that ordered before I get on her again.

I will freely admit that I couldn’t care less about horses in general. I don’t open up most of your posts, but I read them as I scroll past. I will also say that it’s touching how much you care for this horse, and I’ve come to even be somewhat curious/interested in how it’s going. Keep up the good work (even if it’s hard and frustrating sometimes) 😁
