If only someone out there really make the great wireless headset with replaceable AA batteries inside like old Bose QC25 series.

Thought I’d post this because I thought it was interesting. I look forward to some more in-depth reviews.
The main selling point vs. competitors is that it has swappable batteries AND an internal battery, so when you change batteries the headset stays on.
I have a Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless and it is great, but I don’t use the software and the headset dying between battery swapping can be inconvenient at times (ESPECIALLY when I am on a work call). I’m also getting worried that they are slowly going to integrate the software more and more to the point where you HAVE to use the steelseries software or else the headset won’t work.
A major selling point of the steelseries for me is that it has Sidetone (when your mic is un-muted and you talk you can hear yourself). It doesn’t sound that game changing unless you’ve used it, but it audibly lets me know when my mic is muted vs. when it is not. It also helps me avoid from talking WAY too loudly (b/c I can hear how loud I am), well, unless I’m listening to something really loud (I try to turn down the volume to normalish levels to avoid this…). Another major selling point is that the bluetooth connection is off by default which saves battery life. If I get a phone call I warn the people I’m in discord with that I’m getting a call, turn on bluetooth on the headset, it connects, answers the call, and mutes game/desktop audio. The previous steelseries headset I had always had bluetooth on and when a call came through it muted me immediately (and confused the hell out of everyone I was in discord with. ‘Why aren’t you talking? Can you hear me?’).

Based on this PCGamer review , the headset does have a dedicated bluetooth button and the software supports sidetone! My current headset is perfectly fine, but if it broke tomorrow I would be considering this glorious wireless one.It’s great that it has hot swappable batteries but they’re still proprietary batteries. Only reason I can still use my old Xbox controller is that it takes rechargeable AAs. If not the batteries would have died long ago and been irreplaceable.
Some of these wireless headsets actually just use off the shelf batteries. For instance, the Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro that I currently use uses NP-45 camera batteries. Not as commonplace as AA or AAA batteries, but not proprietary either.
We’ll probably need to wait for further confirmation on whether this headset uses off the shelf batteries or proprietary.
