When I bought my framework I was like “ram is cheap might as well max it out”. $220 (after tax) for 96gb, a couple months later the insanity started. I have no possible use for this much ram and I’m torn between getting a little extra money selling one of the sticks or holding onto it under the assumption I’ll never be able to afford any again. Between that and the size of nvmes I got my laptop is worth like 50% more now than it was new this is ridiculous
I know I bought 96GB of ecc ram last summer for ~$500. Seemed expensive at the time but it looked like prices were going up so I decided to over buy. I’d also never bought ecc before so I wasn’t sure if that was over paying. That same kit is over $4k today if you can find it…
I think I’ve gone over 64 GB only a handful of times. Mostly when adding a ton of pics to immich or documents to paperless-ngx. I keep adding more services though so I’ll get some more utilization out of it.

Purchased 4x48GB DDR5 for like 660€ early last year. I’ll never used 192GB.
