After working various jobs, I’m doing personal projects to get into entertainment entirely independently (challenging as heck). I’m lucky in my position to choose my own laptop, I’ve heard the woes of company laptops from people over the years however.

I chose mine without an OS. It’s advertised as having all sorts of AI things, and made for Windows 11, however I didn’t like Windows 11 since the beta (I just do not find the changes to be made for efficiency, however it may be down to what I’m used to).
I installed Windows 10 IoT LTSC, security updates until 2032 and none of that AI nonsense. I remapped the CoPilot key to open Notepad.

Haha I respect folks into Linux, but for my use case scenario I’m better off with what I’m used to. I’m doing pretty simple things with it, mostly research and script-writing and the occasional light video editing.

At some point I want to set up a dedicated machine at home for a media server I can remote into (Jellyfin etc.), that will be running Linux. Will be something for the near future though.
