Hello people of Lemmy,

I have a light bar for my monitor and it has a remote that (I assume) uses a 2.4 GHz radio. Do you have any recommendations for a Thread-enabled transmitter so I can control it from HASS?

I’d check that as well. I’ve had remotes which just hid the IR diode behind some plastics, I had assumed they were RF, but that wasn’t the case. Also there’s at least two other ISM Bands, could be 2.4GHz or 433MHz or maybe 868MHz in products meant for Europe. They’re usually required to disclose the frequency in the manual or on the packaging, or on some sticker. I’m not sure. Once that kind of information is missing, use it as an opportunity to double-check it’s not IR.
