The director’s cut of Alien is terrible. All they do is put in more shots of the xenomorph and that ruins the movie in two ways:
The reason Alien works so well is you barely see the alien at all. The build up to the end is incredibly good, and
The shots that were inserted make it clear it’s just a dude in a rubber suit. The alien changes from something to be feared to something to be laughed at.
