Also, you seem to be forgetting that the failures of the american education system especially apply in impoverished areas, and that recruiters systematically groom and poach students before they even turn 18, using every psychological trick in the book and filling them full of as many promises as they think they want to hear.
Chances are, most people who enlist at 17 or 18 don’t know enough about the US’s “foreign wars” to realize how deeply unjust those wars have been.
