Could we start adding a little bit more about the story to the post?

Yes, I’ve seen that. I’d prefer to have more information before loading the article or - for whatever reason - following a link to another discussion on a different instance.
You could also just post the links with no headline if you think you’re giving too much information up front. See how that works out.
I get that. I used to do that and the mods of this community deleted my posts for doing so. They claimed something about fair use. I really don’t care to figure out what each mods arbitrary notion of fair use is so I just don’t do that here anymore intentionally. As I would rather share the news than not.
Your post just can’t be copyright infringement. You were posting the entire article. Just post a couple of paragraphs. It ain’t that hard - just look at other posts in any of the news communities. If you make an effort at fair use, no one is going to delete your post. Just do 3 paragraphs or less if you’re really worried about it. Easy.
I never quoted a whole article.
Then so much of the article that the difference between that and the entire article is trivial. Same solution though.
You’re posting good articles from good sources. The mods aren’t looking for excuses to remove them. But the admins also shouldn’t have to take on legal exposure they aren’t comfortable with without consent.
