But for what it’s worth, Facebook is useless for people who don’t use / like it, and useful for those who do; but regardless of the utility of their products, they have an abhorrent human rights record, a delusional executive team, and fascist goals. “Careless People” by Sarah Wynn Williams should be required reading for anyone interested in interacting with Meta’s products. I wouldn’t ever ban arguments or users in favour of Facebook’s utility; but I’d counter that even its regular users suffer harms by its use, even if they do keep coming back like gamblers to a slot machine, desperate for a dopamine fix.
