Then one day, he decided to go back to school. He’s now well on his way to a PhD in a completely unrelated field. He says it made him excited about life again.

Friend of mine could afford to retire early at 55. Did much of nothing for a few years. Then one day, he decided to go back to school. He’s now well on his way to a PhD in a completely unrelated field. He says it made him excited about life again.
