it does not look too bad there is some recent activity on the repository. but from a short view it looks quite complex, but maybe worth a try. thanks for the idea!

but can i also make the auto-dj stop after the next song?
or would i have to create N auto-dj playlists?
can it automatically go from auto-dj playlist N to auto-dj playlist N+1?
a little gui app and the space bar would be enough.
but mpd is a pretty good idea, because it can be combined with an out of the box mpd gui, so you would not be completely on your own… thanks!

51·29 days agowhat garlic crusher? i have one, but still chop them by hand, because it takes longer to wash that device, and you lose quite some amount of garlic.

8·29 days agobut the differences between fridges can be spectacular. i had a fridge where carrots go brown and become rubberlike within 2 days, and now they are kept fresh for a week and longer.
don’t be cheap on your fridge!

3·29 days agoyes! i think mine was < 1€ and it’s super useful.
i really hate it to throw away food and this device (not even silicon, just boring white plastic) makes it super easy to empty all kind of bowls and pots.

13·1 month agohow does this compare to snac2 or gotosocial? (are there more like that?)
why is the source code not public?
this is not only true when they describe the product, but their overall personality.
I’m pretty sure a sales person personality would go grumpy if they started programming and seeing all the horrors, but at the same time it’s hard to imagine for a programmer to get happy after switching to sales?
so in regards happiness, programming seems to be a dead end?
i don’t think ISO 8601 allows slashes.

i think you can “train” your tomatoes over multiple generations to be able to survive with nearly no additional water. they will build extremely long roots, and you don’t have to water them so often as you do with normal tomato plants.
but the seeds you buy are coming from tomatoes that where never short on water, so they need water and will not build long roots.

2·3 months agoi agree with you, that it’s not good for the environment. how bad is it exactly?
has someone numbers for this? how does a classical cawler + search + stackoverflow compare to a simple ai question/answer and the proportionate training effort? how much is the co2 output for a day of heavy vibe coding compare to this?
how does this co2 output compare to a flight/car drive?

i used ansible some years ago and i’m using nixos currently and you can not compare those two.
i was not fluent in ansible and i’m not fluent in nixos. yes you have to leave your comfort zone for nixos, but your get so so much more.
the jinja templates in yaml feel like a big hack if you used nixos.
would really be interesting to hear someone talk who is comfortable to use both of them.
