I feel like there’s less of a mental barrier to transitioning if a trans girl likes boys. The gay cis to straight trans is less of a social jump than straight cis to gay trans. If your friends already think you’re gay and are cool with it, they’re more likely to be accepting when you come out as trans. So they probably transition earlier and just get on with straight woman things, like sobbing into a glass of gin because their husband doesn’t take them seriously.
