  • The ultimate goal of capitalism is to maximize profit. Competition means there is a race to the monopoly threshold and the consumer temporarily benefits until the race is settled. But the business always wins because the market is set and the product now part of a habit or routine that consumers will pay a premium to maintain in their lives.





  • Disney prioritizes long term planning and seems to not want to burn all their franchises for the sake of a few short term dollars. They have made a lot of content, some of it good, but they also listen to fans and scaled back on the constant barrage of movies and shows.

    And that’s listening to fans over shareholders. It’s important that this is understood because it shows there is more than profit motive to what Disney leadership is doing. Don’t be blinded by labels - look at the reality of what they are doing and you can see why they are doing these things.
