I guarantee taxpayers will be footing the bill just like the last one.

“shy’d away from burning ours” 🤨
What country at record levels of oil extraction are you living in?

If Prime Minister Mark Carney wants to make real progress … he’d have put the reccomended measures in this new bill and this article wouldn’t be necessary.

I suspect this belies, the truth that a major fuel shortage is going to hit the world like a sack of bricks. In a year when we’re about to witness the real ramifications of our failure to address climate change.
I mean the rich are going to need all that jet fuel to fly around in their private jets. Can’t have us peasants wasting it on frivilous things.

The US has long been the number one enemy of Canadian democracy. That isn’t new, just more explicit these days.

It sounds like a fine idea, but lets not forget the pressing enemy is in the other direction.

Ah yes, the “normative statement”: when economists want a word to cover their blithely ignorant statements.

Choosing corporate profits over public health, it’s the Liberal way. I mean sometimes I appreciate the Conservatives who have the same values but at least don’t lie to me about their evil intentions.

That’s a blithely rose colored view of the situation.
The adoption of AI is for the very purpose of automation to eliminate the most persistent thorn in the Capitalist’s side: human labour.
“They” will never use AI to make your, or my, life easier.

Saw this today, and it feels perfectly appropriate here.

Awww, he’s not happy with the monster he created.
I have some sympathy, but not much.

So, typical corporate welfare.

This too would be more useful.

Most people ever to live are dead, what’s your point?

A bit late to the party StatsCan…
While this is a well done study, does it add anything new to the discussion? I’m sick of being explained to that younger generations have less access to housing, we’ve known this for a decade; they might as well have studied and proven water is wet.
I’d much rather see this data put alongside something like mortgage profits earned by the banks for all this inflated value housing. Or data on how much housing stock is owned by Private Equity companies.

It’s fine as long as our billionaire’s profit right? Right?

The UCP only ever wanted the right kinda of petitions and are on record complaining about people using these new petition laws for recalling UCP MLA’s (how dare they) and proposing things they don’t want (ie remain a part of Canada).
The political manipulations are brazen and deliberate.

Weird testimonial, but I like it.

At least CBC picked up the ball, it’s unlikely any of the corporate media will mention this.
And next week’s announcement: “BC premier signs MOU with feds for pipeline to West Coast”
That it apparently all lies on indigenous groups to resist tells us exactly where this is going.
