Apparently 12% of YouTube users are premium users.
But without the other 90% there would be less content, so subscriber numbers might even go down

Just like how everyone taking street drugs is directly supporting the black market drug trade. And all of the Mafias involved in it.

Instagram is extremely popular. At least here in my region.
Short form videos are extremely addictive. Once the algorithm knows what engages you, it is difficult to stop. And for people who used to use Facebook or who used to use the image sharing on Instagram, meta already knows what to serve them. If people only just try it once, maybe out of curiosity, maybe because someone shared a link, they will have a hard time stopping.
Normal algorithmic feeds are bad enough. But short form videos are on a whole different level.
Get yourself so focused on work that you get 12h of shit done in one setting. Then do nothing for the rest of the day
At least that’s what I do. Then the next day I will only work a few hours and pretend to work a few more
What trustworthy source doesn’t have opinionated gatekeeping mass censorship?
That’s pretty much required to filter out the bullshit. You can’t avoid there being a few false positives

What’s the point about your friend. Apparently they are still getting their sunlight every day.

It’s cold because it has a large thermal mass and nothing heating it up.
Human civilization produces a lot of heat. The thermal mass means it might take years or decades to reach its heat equilibrium. But that equilibrium will be excruciatingly hot.

Halfing the number of platforms certainly doesn’t help either.
There’s currently a lot of support to finish building the station and keep the old station open anyway. Traffic has increased after all. But they already sold the land the railway switches of the station sit on.

Human internal clocks get advanced about an hour each day by exposure to light. Living in perpetual darkness (or under light bulbs only) wrecks hell on the system.
Plus you need some way to get rid of excess heat. Human society uses a lot of energy. That all turns into heat eventually.

Match tickets would also be a reasonable use of NFTs.
But I guess it’s more profitable to have both. Second hand sellers and buyers pay a 15% resale fee instead

It’s easy to buy and sell CDs second hand.
With most digital media these days you don’t buy the actual media. You buy a lifetime license. For your life or the life of the host platform. Whichever is shorter.

Snowboarding. I just wish it wasn’t as expensive. And that climate change wasn’t threatening it.

I like the funny ones. Like good omens. Or the Martian.
Currently I’m reading “what if?” By Xkcd
It is genuinely one of the most trustworthy sources.
Back in the day anyone could make edits. But these days they first have to be reviewed by peers.
It probably only filters for the machine readable markings that will be required in the EU starting next month.
But as soon as someone crops it in Photoshop it is indistinguishable from digital art made by humans

I don’t need to be a parent for that. I manage that all by myself
But there is no requirement to send that data anywhere
