1·2 days agoWell, peace cannot come unless there is some sort of conflict first whether that is war or a disagreement, it is necessary to achieve peace. So I get your points.

2·2 days agoI have been taking tips from random YouTube shorts videos about Blender tips and tricks. Yeah, in this project I used extrude to cursor alot. I was like, “Hey, I can make some abstract sculpture while learn and practice the basics in the edit tab”. My expertise is with sculpting soft bodies. Hard body modeling is new to me.

11·3 days agoThere are al lot of music teachers on YouTube that claim this. I am not agreeing fully; just repeating. It is mentioned in the Heavy Metal encyclopedia. Also, they do mention that classical music had a great influence on Heavy metal and also mention in that book that the ‘founders’ of heavy metal could be Beethoven, Bach, and Mozart. Have you heard their symphonies on guitar? That’s definitely metal. As for the actual first metal band, it is up for debate. Rock blurs into metal. Deep Purple is rock, but I see the influence there to heavy metal too. Yes there were heavier songs before helter skelter, but people, all over have controversy about whether it was or wasn’t the building block for early metal bands to jump off of. If you listen to that song, you can tell there is like a hint of metal in it. But thanks for mentioning Deep Purple. I haven’t listened to them in ages and now I need to again. I need to open up the can of nostalgia.
(BTW, Helter Skelter isn’t my opinion, it is a repeated claim that I agree with a little bit, experts do argue about this but it is commonly quotedas such).

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Should I be using a VPN on my phone to protect my identity and security while emailing and online banking?English
14·3 days agoI guess you have a point. I just never used them. Never had a problem without them, and officiated their use in my understanding and decided they aren’t necessary. They are necessary for the reasons I described. The question is how much risk am I taking without a VPN, as I never got hacked. I also never use antivirus. Scan my PC with an AI Agent to search for malware weekly and never had a problem in the past several years atleast. I never had a virus, never had my info stolen or identity. But that is not necessarily a reason not to protect yourself, I get it. I just don’t want the extra bill, even if they are pretty cheap these days.

42·4 days agoWow that escalated fast. Did you not detect sarcasm in my comment? I apologize.
It is well documented and in books about heavy metal, and by music historians and other experts, that they all say that heavy metal was invented by the beatles via their song helter skelter. Of course there is controversy and not everyone agrees with this. But you have to admit it is a good song. It is a banger to me and many other people. This is a common opinion. So that is why I said the unpopular opinion that it is not.

4·4 days agoLarge glass walls are better applied if they have photogrey technology built in so that when light hits them from one side, they tint. I have only ever seen this in hotel lobbies.

8·4 days agoI do. I used to hate on it before I tried it but after a friend dated me to order one, I did and enjoyed it ever since.
Accurate, right down to the look.
That would be too much work for a moderater, unless a bot were to do the work.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Should I be using a VPN on my phone to protect my identity and security while emailing and online banking?English
188·4 days agoIMO, VPNs are a waste of money unless you plan on pirating content or changing your location on your device to access say better Netflix’s shows. Other than that, there are already security features built in to your phone and you don’t need a VPN. It’s unnecessary. Just don’t do any sketchy stuff on it.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Sight reading musicians of Lemmy, do you hear the notes in your head as you read?English
10·4 days agoA skilled musician can convert sheet music notes to “do rey mi” type sounds almost second hand. It just takes me awhile and doesn’t come naturally to me.
If it satisfies you and your partner, I wouldn’t call it unhealthy. If it didn’t, you wouldn’t do it. It serves a purpose in your relationship. Embrace it.

21·4 days agoOf course there is. But we must do our parts to try and end it. Idk how though, I am new to politics but I know enough to know what’s right and wrong, imo.
I just watched a video on YouTube from a neurobiologist that explained how short form content really harms your brain and, since, have reduced my exposure by at least 75%.
