Yes i read your comment as such so it wasn’t aimed at you, it was aimed in general at any one who feel ashamed for spending money on a hobby.

I think everyone needs one and it is great when you really found that one hobby that makes you happy. Sounds like you found yours and i am happy for you!

Gardening is really nice especially the feeling you get when you eat your own grown food. I tried growing mushrooms for the first time, it was the tastiest mushrooms I have eaten, and it was definitely mostly because I had cared for them for a month haha

I can recommended it if you like mushrooms, grey oyster mushroom is really easy, forgiving and grows fast.

I know you are joking but I wanted to add that a hobby isn’t a hobby if you earn money (that is a job) because the real reason you do it, is because of brain stimulation or even meditation, I think going out with friends is also a hobby (less structured), and alcohol is never a net plus but we do not think we need to earn money when we go out it is the happiness it brings we pay for.

So I have been into chill games lately. I found this Stardew Valley upgrade called Fields of Mistral, so now am I playing that.

It’s Stardew Valley, but better. Most of the QoL mods (maybe 95%) that I usually add for Stardew are already part of Mistral.

In Stardew, there was a lot of waiting. Example upgrading your tools took days, and you could only do one at a time. The combat was also not fun, just annoying. It was mostly spam-clicking, and you had to make sure your aiming was right and I felt forced to do the museum to be able to progress.

In Mistral, you actually fight monsters in a specific way depending on monster and version of that monster (if you want to be effective). You can also craft all your stuff yourself (or buy it if you don’t want to) as long as you have the level and the materials. There is also character progression that makes your life easier for example for crafting can you unlock to remove x min from time cost. And for fighting you can unlock crit hits, as two examples there are a loooot more to unlock.

You can jump and swim, so shortcuts are a thing.

I also like the main quests more. It feels more involving with the people and the world. I don’t feel the constant stress of when and how I need to do things to optimize my time or even unsure what to spend my time on. There is no waiting and the museum is not forced progression that has to be done to actually unlock parts of the game instead there is a main quest and it isn’t locking you away in the same way. But time will tell. Side quest is a fun way to get some easy money and some lore.

I haven’t played enough to say anything of the main story yet. So far, it seems good, and it might be better from a game perspective than stardew because it gives you an actual purpose and a clear goal that you can ignore for as long as you want. Plus the magic part of the story doesn’t feel so out of place as it did in stardew. The ppl seems happier, unsure as of yet but noone seem depressed (many were pretty unhappy in stardew) so the mood is a bit different, it isn’t a bad or good thing, just different way to tell a story, there are hints of deeper character progression tho, I just haven’t focused on leveling up their affection for me, stardew showed pretty quickly how unhappy ppl were and how they cope with life.

The characters feel very integrated. Everyone has their quirky side (in a good way). They hang out with each other, but some more than others. It feels like they like being together, and there are a lot of get-togethers, which makes it fun to get to know them through how they interact.

Their conversations with you feel contextual. If you first talk to them in town (and there isn’t an ongoing event), they can mention things you’ve done, like filling the museum with something they like. If you talk to them again in the inn, they can talk about the upcoming game night, or even do group conversation with others there about how fun last night was.

So if you like Stardew, try Fields of Mistral. So far will I be picking Mistral over Stardew (I have 200+ hours in that game). Main reasons are that the gameplay is more fun and the character interactions are much better. But maybe also because it is new.

Your question made me think about what I look like when I am drenched from the rain or right after coming out of a shower. Usually, there aren’t many visible droplets, if any, it is mostly shine, especially if there’s light on your face. If you’re somewhere dry while your hair is still dripping, you’ll see more of the hair runoff rather than droplets across the face. And if you are still in the rain then it would be water flowing down and hanging from hair (any kind), nose and chin.

We haven’t had one, but if there were, I would probably go. I was pretty much friends with everyone, and I still stay in touch with a few people I am very close with.

My feelings towards a middle school reunion is pretty much the same as everyone’s feelings towards high school reunion. I would never show up to a middle school reunion. There were some people who tried to do one 10-15 years ago, and I never went, and I never will. The people there sucked. I never want to see them again. If I do then I pretend not to know them and I am pretty sure they do the same.

Wouldn’t the last one (algorithm) be what they kinda try to do now (like Discord blocks you from 18+ stuff) and that is why they need to know your age so kids won’t se some stuff that adults can?

So Skyrim must be my favorite because: Every year (I realized this last grind that it is always around December to January) do I start a new mod grind for Skyrim and then play a shit ton for a week or two and then never look back until winter again lol

I think this is a very interesting topic. How can you verify that someone is of age without the problem with privacy?

Would you go to a kiosk or something and buy a code that is not bound to you as a person but the person who works there have verified that you are over 16? So it will kinda be like a steam code except they need to check your actual age with a valid identification (that is only shown to the person) and that code will be bound to an account when claimed. If it is per account then that could also make it annoying for kids to create multiple accounts if they aren’t of age.

How else could you do it without needing to trust someone to keep your identity safe?

Women apparently do not find these game characters sexy (nor gay men apparently) and then the straight men who think they are and strive to look that way will say that the women are laying.

That made me wonder who they want to impress, other men? Themselves? Or they are just in disbelief that they put so much work into something that only attracts other straight men?

I was in this friend group (many many years ago) were one girl who always amazed me with her conclusions sometimes joined up. She was very kind so you can not dislike her but she didn’t understand very simple concepts and were often lost in conversations that were a bit deeper than small talk. Everyone who met her for the first time always had at least one silent movement where they were thinking “why did she ask/say that?” and were unsure how to proceed (to not hurt her).

At my old workplace did I work with one woman that I think is “dumb” but I am very unsure in what way. I always had this weird feeling when talking to her, it felt like she didn’t really get it but she didn’t say much that would indicate it. Even tho she is older than I did it feel like talking to a child. It was a very weird experience. I didn’t really talk much with her so I heard most things second hand but she could come to some weird conclusions about how to do her job. For example I often came earlier so I could leave earlier, so she did the same except I was actually working she did not, she were just sitting there for 1 hour doing nothing and assumed that was ok, as if we got payed to be there not actually work. When her boss told her off did she get stressful like a child and you saw she felt ashamed. She did this for many things and how she reacted made it seem like a child. I am unsure if she just tested us or if she actually thought it would be ok.

Otherwise do I not really meet “dumb” ppl. It is more about not having the knowledge or experience to know how to proceed or understand something. And some ppl are often in flight or fight mode when stressful problems arrive, so they do not think and come up with a solution that may be called “dumb”.

Weirdly, it is my boss. He always got my back and takes everything I say really seriously. I am not the only one who thinks he is the best boss. We get a lot of perks that some of my friends are jealous of, but I value my boss far more than most of those perks. I have learned that if the boss sucks than great perks doesn’t keep me, maybe a bit longer, but usually not for long.

For me and the ppl I chatted/texted with was it mostly smiles like: xD xP XD xd x3 and the laughing was haha, hahahahaha, HAHAHA, sometimes lol and rofl but most of the times were lol used as a way to say “that was weird” or “that is stupid”, could also be a question “is it supposed to be funny?” Or a statement about what you said or will say “I am silly” so ppl would know they can find it funny/it is ok to laugh.

I rarely used lol for actually laughing, it was more used as “that/this is silly”. I think the younger millenniums said lol and rofl instead of smilies more often but I am unsure about that one.

If you start at a new job and get a phone number that happens to have been owned by someone that signed up to a lot of stuff then you will get them… I sometimes also get random phonecall from old ppl that goes “oh shit wrong person” or text messages wishing me a happy birthday, I feel bad for those ppl. In the beginning did I answer them but it was annoying after x amount.

Apparently did I get a old mans phone number who was very loved but very bad at communicating that he changed his phone number and also signed up for many things. So I only answer if it is with in my work hours otherwise do I just ignore the phone call completely.
