Pain is a signal that a life form has been damaged. I should think that most if not all multicellular life forms have some method of detecting when they are damaged or dying, else their survival would be highly unlikely.

What I don’t fathom is why some scientists do not approach all life on earth with basic assumptions of self-preserving behaviour and the implications therein.

Celsius isn’t actually metric, per say. Its based on the freezing point of water while farenheight is based on the freezing point of mercury.

Celcius is what most of the world used because 0 is where water freezes and is very relevant to the human condition, hence why its the most used.

It was adopted as part of the metric SI system but unlike all the units developed for metric which actually use the above scale, I do not believe there is any practical use for this with celcius.

Kelvin does use this however.

Walmart should be avoided, always. Cheapest does not win. You lose later while thinking you won. And the rich that own big chains like Walmart know that.

That’s also corporate funding and buying power. They will fund lower prices to crush the little guy and then raise their prices when the little guys are gone.

They can buy their fertilizer, diesel, and seeds in bulk at discount. Your little guy cannot.

And when there’s a disaster localized to you?

Your little guy will be there, keeping his produce on the shelf, while the big guys products can’t get through because shipping routes are closed.
