  • Yeeep, this right here.

I’m a nerd and software engineer, sitting in front of 4 screens right now. I own a smart watch which I wore 23 hours a day for years on end.

I stopped wearing it several months ago and I literally do not know where it is right now. I assume it’s in my house somewhere. 🤷‍♂️

The greedy shits that run the tech world have taken it too far. The switch flipped in my brain and I just do no care about tech “products” any more. If it connects to the internet or has a screen then it’s almost guaranteed to be designed in a way that goes against my best interests.

  • Super Mario Bros (NES) to Mario 64: 11 years.

It was pretty wild growing up while Moore’s Law was full steam ahead.

I can think of 3 different PCs I built and overclocked during college. Now, my everyday use computer is 8 years old and it’s still pretty dang good.

This reminds me of the similar map of names for soft drinks. You have your soda vs coke, but I live in one of the “pop” regions which is admittedly a larger area than these little “bubbler” enclaves.

I mostly switched over to “soda” once I went to college though. A nationwide and international assortment of group members will encourage that.

  • At least it will improve the quality of those interactions, and probably be good for the people themselves.

Many people seem to think that some of the good options our awesome technology provides is the ability to not only avoid doing certain work or avoid learning things, but to avoid using basic senses and interacting with the world we exist in.

Maybe think of it as a collective forced touch grass moment, lol.
