It should be noted that none of what they released has been verified. Throwing 700 papers out there is intentional to generate buzz, “hey look how great we are”, and to slow attempts at proving or disproving their results. That way even if a few get disproven early they can still say “well that’s just a couple out of hundreds” because it’s gonna take forever to work through the slop dump. It could be a long time before we get a percentage of accuracy and by then most people will have forgotten or lost interest since the headline will be stale by then.

It’s a great article that basically spends the entire time praising Cosmic for all the great things it’s doing. It does contrast Cosmic with KDE because it’s written by a dev who did things like the frosted glass feature and built a bunch of popular themes for KDE, but they really sell you on Cosmic. After reading it I’m considering giving it a second try, and I’m on KDE currently.

The sparkle emoji is commonly used by AI when writing up descriptions. You’ll note the lack of certainty in my comment, but you’ll see it used a lot. As another commenter below said AI did have to get it from somewhere, so maybe its just become common

I think it’s more along the lines of drumming up hype to impress (dupe) investors. “Hey look, our AI is soooo sophisticated it “accidentally” broke “containment” and “hacked” some systems!”
