Between Democrats and Republicans, which one has the ideology of small government? Not what they do, what is the official rhetoric? I have never in my life heard that be a Democrat position but I have certainly heard it as a Republican position.

Find the best paying job you can and start investing ASAP. My biggest regret is not investing sooner. It doesn’t even need to be substantial. Anything will snowball, the amount just makes it snowball faster.
Honestly I’d skip college at this point. Even programming jobs are rare now days. Get a trade job. Something that becomes good paying like electrician or plumber. It’s hard on the body, but if you invest well, you might be able to retire before it becomes a problem.
If you want a family, don’t wait for the “right time”. There is always going to be something going on in your life and the world. If you want kids, best to have them while you have the energy to play with them. They can also serve as your reason to get out of bed and reach for more instead of a void in your life that keeps you in bed. This assumes family is important to you of course.

There is a difference between views and actions. So much horrible shit was done in the name of religion xyz. Does that make the religion inherently bad, or the people who did bad things in the name of it? Views and what is done because of those views are not one in the same.
For example. You could be upset about illegal migration. That is largely a conservative talking point. How you solve that could be evil like genocide, or something like making the immigration process actually possible in less than a decade.

Non deterministic is not the same as random. You will never get a taco recipe when you ask it to tell you why the sky is blue. AI is incredible and not something to be brushed off as a child’s toy. Otherwise you are the farmer with the plow laughing at the guy with the first generation tractor that breaks down five times during a single plow but still finishes before you and with better rows.
There is absolutely a time and place for AI and I’ve seen it fail extremely hard many times. But I’ve also seen it identified things I’ve overlooked and found bugs in minutes that could have taken hours to find by hand.
Totally fair. I’m in a similar boat on family. I’m going to reach the age soon where it’s no longer a realistic option for me to change my mind on. But I’ve seen it go sideways enough not to want it and I like my current situation.
That be said, human contact is important. Even if that means working retail like Lowes or Home Depot on the weekend just to push you to interact with people. Or if you prefer, there are plenty of communities out there whether that be religion, book clubs, or even the freemason’s for that matter. I have a few family members in that. Communities that support you. It’s been rough working from home the last few years with minimal human contact.
