30·3 days agoI’m not sure if that is accurate, as Brazil is also a high humidity tropical country, which does not have all those plastic layers in their products and their plastic is way slimmer than those I’ve seen used in Asia.
As far as I am aware, they also have one of the biggest and most diverse ant populations, yet their biscuits are as crispy as any without all the extra plastic

1·8 days agoFrom the top of my head, there are:
City of Amsterdam https://social.amsterdam.nl/
Baden-Württemberg https://bawü.social/
Netherlands https://social.overheid.nl/
Germany https://social.bund.de/
France https://social.numerique.gouv.fr/
EU Commission https://ec.social-network.europa.eu/Switzerland had a pilot project, but I don’t know what happened to it
I’m pretty sure there are more local governments with their own instances or plans to do it , specially after all the digital sovereignty discourse got some boost to it

This comment actually got me curious, so I found these numbers for cities with population around ~1.1 to ~1.4mi
Can you guess which cities are actively investing in their vision zero programs and reforms?
Lemmy doesnt like tables, so I’m sorry in advance:
Numbers normalized to 100.000 population
Deaths per 100k // City, COUNTRY
0 Helsinki, FI
0.36 Oslo, NO
3.70 Amsterdam, NL
4.20 Porto, PT
4.38 Adelaide, AU
4.59 Chihuahua, MX
8.64 Florianopolis, BR
9.39 Mendoza, AR
14.15 Valparaiso, CL
16.01 Jacksonville, US
I was going to try go get 5 cities per continent, but I ran out of time. I think we already can get a good picture.
Population taken from 2025 numbers https://worldpopulationreview.com/cities which says it sources from https://esa.un.org/unpd/wup/ (currently down for maintenance). It was not ideal to use 2025 numbers, but differences would be minimal based on annual growth
