Link one or two of those papers?
That’s not what you claimed in your original comment. You said
“I think whoever wrote that has different criteria between intelligence and AI when it comes to understanding”
The paper I posted is literally applying the same criteria to humans and LLMs.
It seems like you are the one applying different criteria?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Which computer-related belief do you hold without any foundation?
4·3 days agoThis is not wholly without a true foundation. Capacities can store charge for some time and e.g. keep data in ram (I think this is only true of older types of memory now though?)
Did you actually read their example tests? Are you saying that you can have a valid and useful definition of intelligence that includes those kind of mistakes?
This, for example:
What’s wrong with recycling material? If it’s decent, it’s still gonna be useful for a new class…
One of my uni lecturer friends set a task that required students to ask GenAI to produce an essay, and then the actual task was to critique the essay (in class, I think).

Lots of places add a 10-15% surcharge on holidays here (Australia). As long as they are up-front about it, it’s not that hard to do the math in your head…

I have 3 close friends who are doctors, I have zero doubt they would jump to help in an emergency (I’ve seen them all do it at various times, though not on planes).

14·5 days agoMost of the proteins within the cell would denature over (a fairly short) time, which means all the cell functions would fail. The cell membranes would also rupture and dissolve or rot eventually. Only the hard keratin exoskeleton would remain reasonably intact.
I don’t actually know what this means, but it reminded me that I helped carry my best friend’s coffin when I was in my late 20s… I guess that counts.
Props. That’s a great attitude. Hope it works well for you all.
