100%. It’s ahistorical. The story of humanity is the story of smaller groups pooling together in larger groups for a common good.
The concept of Germany, Spain, or France is pretty new. It was a collection of small kingdoms. And before that even smaller clans. And before that etc etc. And now we start to think of them more and more as an even bigger unit: the EU.
We’re social creatures, and every meaningful improvement has happened because we work together and care for each other.
There’s always elements taking advantage of this, so it’s important not to forget that we have to fight for what we find important.
This defeatist view is a gift to those that want to take advantage of our good will. Yeah, life is hard and it sucks sometimes, but if you let that jaded view take over, you’re creating a self fulfilling prophecy.
I’m having a (good) moment with qt atm (excluding kirigami), so that’s a relevant thing to point out!
I missed this! What’s the tool folks are using instead of lutris?

the bible foot massage story really is one of the funniest bits in there.
his friend / treasurer of his brand account sees him getting a foot massage from Mary Maggie with all the fancy oils and says “ay Jesus, we could feed a bunch of poor people with the cost of this”. Jesus exhales and says “you’ll always have the poor, I’ll only be here for a bit, let me enjoy this”
guy loved a foot massage
It is! If you want to reduce exposure to this you really have to make sure mdm disallows installing it. The numbers trigger regardless of seats, and then you’re on the hook for the licenses for every employee using it.
So even if as a matter of policy you don’t use docker desktop, it’s possible engineers still do.
At work, avoiding surprise licensing fees. If you ever have over 250 employees or over 10 million revenue, you owe a subscription.
At the home, easy orchestration with systemd
This is still one of the best movie moments. And the image I send people on airdrop if they happen to have it on publicly

I missed that! That sucks. Didn’t know about Öffi!

It really does suck in Germany. At least in Berlin, Citymapper is the bees knees!
