I don’t know about dnf, but pacman doesn’t do this by default. The only way to hold back packages is by writing it in the configuration.

Pro tip for the milk-dunkers meetup we’re having here:
Usa a fork stabbed in the cream to keep your fingies milk-free!
Yes, I dunk them in milk. They’re awesome that way.

Yeah, I get that gripe.
It’s just fine for most of my use-cases, though. For example, if my living room TV is in use, but updates have dropped for a game that I want to play later, I can start up my living room box, and kick off the update with my Deck.

For real. I’ve worn the thumbstick on my steam controller down to the structural plastic, and the battery door is cracked. I have one in a box because I love the thing so much. This is 100% a “once I have the money for it, it will be mine” kind of purchase.
Pretty good so far. I haven’t had a job that makes me wish for a workplace accident in years.
An interview works both ways. If that’s how they consider humans, then you dodged a bullet.
My answers to “Would you explain this gap in your resume?”:

Well, for my own anecdotal evidence: My Rx is strong enough that my glasses pull my eyes inward a bit, and when I wear contacts, my main complaint is that my eyes look a bit too far apart. So in that case getting lasik and wearing glasses without an Rx would probably still result in that still being the case.
Makes me think of the time I was running a stripped down laptop motherboard as a server for a while. Was given a laptop with a broken screen, but it had a wired NIC, so I pulled the screen off, along with any other component that wasn’t necessary, and shoved it behind a TV where it was close to the router. Ran on that thing for years before being able to afford better equipment.
An underrated feature of the laptop server: built-in UPS!
I am pan, and have been with all sorts of people, and I have this one ancient, infallible technique that always guarantees a good time:
Listening
I’m dead serious. It works wonders across the entire board, regardless of gender, sexuality, body type, ability, or equipment configuration. Whoever your partner is, communication is your most valuable tool. Whether verbal or non-verbal, listening to what your partner has to say about what they want and how they feel will always tell you what to do.
