It’s too late to just make plans without taking decisive action. What’s needed now, is immediate action, even if unplanned or with very little planning. Better take necessary action without a plan than sitting around planning for something that won’t match the facts being created right now. Thanks to many European politicians being transatlanticist bootlickers, that, unfortunately, is exactly what is happening. There still is a widespread naive notion of the Trump regime just going away after the next election, and everything returning to “normal” transatlantic bootlickery, if you sit it out long enough. Meanwhile the Trump regime is instituting purges in its entire administration, and changes election law in order to ensure they win the next election. Even if that fails, we are still dealing with a country where you face exactly zero repercussions for attempting to extend your term in office via a coup, and the regime surely has learned its lesson from last time.

Peter “the antichrist ist coming” Thiel. Sounds more like an unhinged conspiracy theorist than some smart mastermind.

The difference to now is that the internet reveals all lies. The Iraq war wouldn’t be possible today.

The internet has existed back then, too. One might even argue it was a better internet, because all those “social media” propaganda mills were still in their infancy, or didn’t even exist yet. If the change of the internet has done anything compared to back then, then it has made it easier to spread lies to the masses.

It’s way too late to start planning now. Planning should have started with Dumbya Bush’s war in Iraq. Now is time for action.

Don’t count on the next US election. The Trump regime already tried a coup after a lost election. Even though Trump himself is as dumb as a pile of shit, the people behind him surely have learned their lesson from the failure of that coup. And that lesson definitely isn’t “don’t attempt a coup”, because it was practically without consequences for them. They are already working on changing the way elections work and are doing purges in the entire executive and judicial branch. They are here to stay.

A typical German solution for the underlying problem. It doesn’t solve the problem at all, but introduces a shitload of bureaucracy that’s about as useful as an ulcer on the arse instead.
