The concept isn’t necessarily bullshit, the technology just isn’t nowhere near there yet. Given our current level of understanding of human intelligence it probably won’t be for a there for a very long time, but that doesn’t invalidate the concept as a future goal. Companies currently working on AI products just seem incapable of being honest about that.

When I asked my teacher on italki it turned out that both mistral and chatgpt were wrong.

AI is really good at translating, but not nearly as good at explaining grammar. I have tried before to get a mistral tutor explain to me when a verb takes the gender of the direct object or of the indirect object in Hindi. It gave me a wildly different answer than chatgpt.

Kids will find anything normal if the people around them act like it’s normal. The problem for OP was mostly caused by the disconnect between what her parents appeared find normal and what (most of) the rest of the country she lives in find normal.

They probably cant because they dient storend time using AI to learn a language their already proficient in. That exactly why is problematic. You can’t know if the explanations are good unless you get an actual human who knows the language to verify it.

As with every legal question, it depends on the country you’re in. And in those kinds of cases maybe, how good a lawyer you can afford can be more important than the actual law. You can be completely right and still be bankrupted by legal costs if you plan to go up against rich companies and/or people.
