Maslow’s hierarchy and all that. I wouldn’t expect people to vote for much else than their material interests, perceived or real. Anything outside of that is a bonus that tends to be confined to smaller parts of society. Besides, voting third party when the third party is not using the electoral system for revolutionary purposes is considered pointless by some. Personall I think on the whole the DSA is doing the right thing given what the current env allows. Obv won’t be enough for significant or lasting change but this wave is putting the dangerous thoughts in a lot of people’s minds. We’ll see where it goes in a few years time.

Well yeah but we can excuse Billionaires like this too. “They were just trying to get their bag”. Americans are at large responsible for the suffering of others. Nowhere was this more clear than the 2024 election where most Liberals decided to vote for Genocide Joe despite the genocide on Palestinians. Being fully clear to everyone.

And no that wasn’t a principled position. It was because Biden wasn’t Genociding Americans but brown people. If 99% and 100% Hitler were putting white Americans in concentration camp a third party would win in a heartbeat.

Not excuse but explain. Kinda why we’d have to take billionaire wealth by force. As far as I understand Marxism, that’s one of its main points - that people tend not to do what’s moral or ethical, but instead adjust their ethics to match their material interests.
