*reminder alarm rings*
“Oh neat it’s So-So’s birthday. I’ll have to wish them well once I’m done with what I’m currently doing that was interrupted by the alarm, or else I won’t remember to come back and finish it.”
*immediately forgets that the alarm ever happened as soon as I put the phone back down*
Definitely a risk. I try not to dismiss the notification until whatever needs to be done is done.
Man, if I could just stop that stupid habit of swiping away notifications immediately. I have my emails and stuff giving me notifications just in case I get important ones, but it’s mostly just spam that I swipe away after glancing at.
I’ll swipe it away and immediately be like “shit, I needed that one! Fuck!” That’s how I lost my Medicaid because I forgot about my renewal stuff. Been trying to get back on it for nearly a year now.

Just set up a reminder alarm for whatever you were doing.
I have a birthday calendar in my bedroom (year agnostic) so every morning I can see it and get a reminder

Ever since I started getting into my phone calendar I’ve felt like every waking moment of my life has been filled with relentless activities
My phone recently reminded me its my wife’s birthday tomorrow. It reminded me at 5pm. I’m living in a rural town where shit doesnt stay open past 4 never mind 5. It reminded me at the least optimal time, so I can spend maximum time sweating about it without being able to do a single thing about it.
Lucky for me I prepped her a present after last year and its just been sitting there hiding in my closet but god damn if I wasn’t pissed off about that reminder.
