America this morning
I didn’t even view the video and still the song is stuck in my head.
It’s been living rent free in my head since 2000
Europop is such a great fucking album. Every song on it is a banger.
100%. I must’ve listened to My Console on repeat 1,000 times on repeat as a kid. My friend got the album as a birthday present and he loaned it to me so many times that he eventually just gave it to me
This is so weird to read because when this album came out everyone and their mother had a CD burner and blank CDs cost like $5 for 100 back then.
The song Hyperlink had the word sexual in it so I knew my parents wouldn’t let me listen to it so I told my brother not to tell them. Not only did he tell them, he also told my mom I tried to keep it a secret so she beat the shit out of me
I guess my point is your friend could have burned that CD for you instead.
And then you coulda sharpied on it “Now That’s What I Call Music 12” or “Kidz Bop 9” on it. Coulda even padded it with Kidz bop songs.
Sorry your mom sucks/sucked.
That’s true, I think I vaguely remember asking him to do it but he was 9 and just didn’t want to bother lol.
My parents were insanely strict growing up and had no hesitation using physical violence as a punishment since we grew up in South Africa but they’re completely different people now. I’m very thankful that they did a 180 after I graduated because I have a great relationship with them now.
Too Much of Heaven is my favorite. My Console is great too. The Spanish CD has a more dynamic mix of the album. It sounds amazing.
Whoa I didn’t know they had different mixes! Definitely going to check that out, thanks for that insight
I miss the early style of 3D animation. Like ReBoot. Or that one Kylie Minogue video.
Those sleek, smooth surfaces & simple 2D textures. The deliberate (& clunky) animation. It’s the result of hitting a wall with CGI, and once we cleared that wall this style died with it. I sorta get why - it’s like using pencils and suddenly the world moves on to paints, but what about the folks that like pencils?
Good stuff.
They’re making a new reboot
This came out nearish to my first raving days (yes I’m old and also quite dull now heh) but I so recall it well. Nice dancy beat, chorus that sticks in your head, good melody. Can see why it was popular. Danced to it in the clubs many times. Preferable than many club songs then and pure nostalgia now.
Put that shit on loop!
It’s going platinum in my house today
Blue wave roll onward!
Oh god no.
Edit: also this wasn’t the 80s I’m not that old, fuck.
If I were green I would die
