Just things in periods of time where at first, you didn’t care about it but then comparing to the way things are now, to then, you soften a little to where you kinda wished that you got a little more involved on.
I personally wished that sometimes I would’ve been there to actively watch and follow a few channels on YouTube in their heyday. Because I just learned recently that the Gaming Historian was ceasing doing gaming-history content and I watched that announcement video, wishing I could’ve been there since Day 1 to follow the path all the way until that end.
Another that I still sometimes wish I could experience from the beginning is 2 Sense, that old online radio show I mentioned to someone a couple weeks ago when I asked another question about what do you listen to over and over about. I got into that show sometime in mid-2008, but by then, a lot of the earlier stuff were already long done by the time I started listening. The show at the time, really opened my eyes to a lot of the world, even when there were things about the show that I could say, I could go without. But, I think it would’ve helped kick off my maturity just a little earlier if I had dived into that show when it began and follow it.
I wish I had been more actively involved in the rave scene in the 90s, I went to a ton of them and was on the email lists and vrave (telnet raver chat) but I wish I had gotten more into the productions and helping to plan, set up, decorate and all that, I did help out once with one smaller barn party because I had a friend of a friend who ran an info line and was involved. I was just a teenager though, It was a wonderful time anyways. Hope that counts.
I wish I wouldn’t have wasted the last 15 or so years of my life when my body was still functioning mostly alone with way too much alcohol lol
the summer of love, woodstock and allat would be awesome :)
I wish i spent more time with my grandpa. He went to ww2 and didnt talk all that much about his experiences.
I wish i tried more of the social aspects of the internet in 2005. I was active in many spaces but i never chatted because i only cared about the game.
I wish i gave edm more of a chance when i was younger. When i first started hearing it. i turned my nose up at it because i liked metal and thought edm was dumb. But now i enjoy it and the community around it is great and i missed out on some amazing concerts because i was not open enough to new things.
My Bright Eyes obsession peaked during the People’s Key-Down in the Weed’s hiatus
