Been digging through a bunch of 70s era old comics (this one is from 1985 on closer inspection) I bought a million years ago for collage purposes. Thought this was cute, though I’m secretly hoping someone comes along and ruins it.
Ooh, that’s Cotter Pin. She ends up becoming the apprentice to the chief architect of the Doozers, it works out well for her.
They had Poly Bridge in the 70s?
Honestly, though, it’s a pretty bad bridge. It would either be very unstable, or much heavier and more expensive than necessary.
But… but… bestagons
Hexagons are bestagons when you’re trying to min/max surface area. But when you’re trying to min/max strength, triangles are where it’s at.
The design reminds me of this old study where they gave spiders different kind of drugs to see how it would affect their ability to build a web.
And they make it out of radish dust. No drugs involved in these comics…
