The original characters were all enjoyable, except I felt Jamie (which technically isn’t a original character) was a little underdeveloped

I felt like he wasn’t really developed in the original show. He was a baby when it ended. So this time around they wanted to involve the actor but they didn’t know what to do with the character, and didn’t want to spend time building a personality for him from scratch.
