My favorite part is that lois had 5 boys, and always wanted a girl. And at the end of the show, she finally had a daughter. And then in the revival they ended up being non-binary lmao. Fucking perfect. Modern and on-point with the original show’s themes.

Honestly I found it delightful. It was so fun to see so many faces again, and even the new characters melded in surprisingly well. My one gripe is I think they would have benefited from adding a layer of artificial grit or something so it didn’t look quite so hi-def.

Such a huge disappointment to learn that Frankie Muniz is a supporter of Joe Arpaio, an insane former sheriff with a horrible track record of abuses and deaths.

Wow that’s some crazy ass shit actually.

      Interview:

“I don’t talk about it that often because I’m just an actor. When I hear actors and celebrities talking about a cause or whatever it may be, they are just an actor. I don’t know why all of a sudden their opinion matters so much. So I’m doing what I do best, I’m an actor and enjoying my life. But me personally, I love politics. I love this country and I want to contribute in any way possible.”

So he doesn’t like his co-workers speaking up because they’re left leaning, but it’s perfectly ok for him to do it because he’s right-wing.

Muniz also revealed that he fancies himself a bit of an amateur political pundit due to the copious amount of time he spends watching Fox News and reading everything he can find. He said his interest in politics sprang up out of boredom when he moved to Arizona.

“I didn’t grow up in a family that leaned one way or the other. I started reading everything I could and to try to learn as much as I could. I ended up where I am based on what I thought just made sense, what I believed in,” he said.

It’s like if JK Rowling and Ben Shapiro raised a kid.

      From Joe,

“Happy Birthday to Malcolm in the Middle star actor, Frankie Muniz! I became a fan of Frankie when he visited me at my Sheriff’s office to show support,” Arpaio posted on X, almost a week after Muniz’s birthday.

Who tf goes to a Sheriff’s office for a friendly visit? Probably Muniz starts running for some kind of office in Arizona soon.

pretty much like dorethy, Sinese, these people knew they were right wing and they dint jive with left leaning people, they at least kept thier mouth shut throughout thier career until after they left Hollywood and saw how trump gave a “hateful voice” to the right these people came out of the woodwork.

looks like muniz got roped in by the fox/manosphere pundits. another one is the now decease Chance perdemo(played in sabrina and gen V1) he was turning magaty and it was preparing toe exit Hollywood due to it being to “Woke”.

it makes sense now since nascar/racecar is primarly watched by conservatives in the south, and he is drives for them.

I made it half-way through the first episode. At that point, I realized there’s no going back, the magic is gone. Better to just watch the original.

It’s been pretty enjoyable so far. More complex than the original. They knew what age fans of the original would be.

    My unsolicited review:

It was okay, but not great. The lighting and camera work was unimaginative, the acting was always a little off (especially Malcolm). This contributed to a general “fakeness” that was probably the worst part of the show.

Too much fan service, but understandable if this was a one-off thing.

The story was good. The tone was more serious, which wasn’t a problem, I think it’s great they don’t just try to remake the original, but the jokes that are there often fell flat. In general I didn’t laugh much.

The original characters were all enjoyable, except I felt Jamie (which technically isn’t a original character) was a little underdeveloped. In general I thought the cast was too large for the runtime, but if they do produce a full series (about Malcolm running for office?) this could be resolved.

Overall a nice little addendum for the fans, but nothing too exciting. I do think there is some meat for a sequel show here.

I felt like he wasn’t really developed in the original show. He was a baby when it ended. So this time around they wanted to involve the actor but they didn’t know what to do with the character, and didn’t want to spend time building a personality for him from scratch.

    Premier?

They say that there are more episodes to come, but they already released all 4 and there’s no plans to make more
