If you’ve never had to care for infant kittens, they are pros at getting as dirty as possible.

Our pair had to be bathed after pretty much every feeding.

Edit: If you have to bath a sub 8 week old kitten, it’s imperative that they be dried as soon as possible. Infant kittens can’t regulate their body temperature well, and it can kill them. Especially if they were malnourished when you found them.
