For those who haven’t figured this out yet:

They’re going to cancel or seriously disrupt the midterms, and they will go door to door, with ICE, based on your known political affiliation, after they declare anyone who disagrees with them to be a terrorist.

    Be ready.

Hopefully they fuck it up and turn on each other before it gets to that point.

But… do you really wanna just rely on that happening?

Anyone who can leave the Untied States should. Why doesn’t everyone realize this? If I were there, I’d be desperately searching for any way out. I actually get upset when anyone talks about who they hope becomes the next president cause it means they haven’t accepted the reality yet that the Untied States is a dictatorship and American democracy as we know it is over.

I would be moving to Canada ASAP… but I am currently crippled, don’t have a car.

I’m doing physical therapy every day, at home of course, we don’t have healthcare for the poor here, unless you want to owe 50k to 100k to a hospital/insurance…

…its working, i am getting back more capability… but I am not yet at the point where I could shove all my shit into a U Haul or something, not without extreme pain and likely undoing months of progress / re-crippling myself.

I just don’t have enough money saved up, I don’t think, don’t have a passport, do at least have my brith certificate… as best I understand, I’d have to apply for asylum.

Theoretically, I should still be able to continue to recieve US Disability benefits even if I am abroad, and that should be enough for me to survive in like a studio in a small / medium sized town…

…but… at this point, that could basically randomly change without warning, if some random executive order from Trump or new policy from the SSA just decides that those not residing in the US now don’t actually get any money.

Theoretically that would be illegal, but lol, not like our laws are holding together very well these days.

And from what I have heard, on youtube at least, from following a few Canadians… it would seem there is, at best, mixed sentiment as to whether or not Canada should do some kind of mass amnesty type thing, for fleeing Americans.

I dunno, you got opinions or maybe advice around all that?

I’m keen to get the fuck out, but I also don’t want to be a burden.

I suppose I could just pack my most important shit into a large backpack / rucksack or something, take a long haul bus… wouldn’t be the first time I’ve lived out of a backpack, but dear christ, my last run of that literally nearly killed me.

That fact that this comment doesn’t have a single downvote is a terrifying reality check all on its own.

None of this is hyperbole anymore.

I heard Republicans walked out of the House, en masse, not seen since the Great Depression. Which now that I think about it, that was nearly 100 years ago!

Midterms are the warm up for 2028. They are setting the stage to control congress so they can take the election if their other thefts fail. We will see whom their leader ends up being in that election.

They want to get that extreme this midterm, they don’t have the support yet. Not that they won’t try and have some limited success.

Deport citizens? Deport them where? Oh. Deport them into death — just like the Nazis did with their undesirables.

The US has agreements with a number of third countries to take on non-citizen deportations. According to the article in the link, these include Mexico, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, Guatemala, and South Sudan.

It’s fairly likely that the US applies enough economic pressure until these countries have little choice but to do it. I recall they were trying to force Bahamas and Grenada into it last year, but as far as I’m aware they have managed to maintain their rejection

This, exactly. A nice tidy way of keeping their hands clean. Deport them to a country with prisons where detainee deaths are common, or their government can be subtly coerced into killing the people our government sends there. When people demand answers, our government can just throw up its hands and say, “Well, how were we supposed to know they were doing that?”

They will just round them up and “concentrate” them into camps, while figuring out where to send them. Who knows, maybe some of them will even happen to die while the Republicans try to find a final solution, solving part of the problem that way.

Probably why there’s so many ICE camps being made that are so huge. Have no fear though. I’m sure that work shall set you free.
