CW/TW: persecution, heavy hearted stuff and call for action
I was reading about persecution of lgbt people during Nazi Germany, and found out about her. She was the only trans person to survive torture and internment in the Nazi concentration camps. I don’t know if there are any others currently alive that underwent such camps too, though I know of Ovida Delect, who was a trans woman and a communist resistance member, tortured for ten days by the Nazis for interrogation, but didn’t snitch and survived the war.
That said, what I know is this: that I want the flame of their stories to not die out and to be told.
What she had to undergo… let us remember her and be there for one another, that we all may live in liberty; trans, cis, queer or nonqueer, but especially to remember: Never again. Alligator Alcatraz is illegal and should be demolished! Let us make our own gardens, let us arm and train ourselves, let us defend each other, support queers and nonqueers who want abortion, lifesaver meds and surgery, who seek mental help.
We shall be independent, and we shall never surrender. Only to hugs, Blåhajs and dog and cat pics ᶘ ᵒᴥᵒᶅ
